I am currently studying two courses via distance education. I am working on a Bachelor of Theology (Honours) and a Certificate IV in Naturopathy. I intend to develop both of these streams of study, adding certificates and diplomas in alternative medicine as well as going up to a ThD. My career ambition is to become a tertiary lecturer in Biblical Studies (Old or New Testament).
I have my own business with ACN. My business website is http://teamglobalconnect.acnrep.com. It is a global technology and essential services company operating in 21 countries. This endeavour is one of my first steps towards financial freedom and the achievement of my lifetime goals.
I have a long list of written projects I wish to produce. I am currently in the process of prioritising these. Some of them require me to achieve a high level of familiarity with Biblical Greek and Hebrew languages at least, though I hope to master many of the ancient languages of the Mediterranean and Ancient Near East. Some of these projects will be many years in the making and will substantially impact the present state of Biblical, Theological and Historical research. These enterprises will be managed through my research and publishing company, With Girded Sword, Inc.
I am presently researching for a screenplay to be written by myself and my best friend, Kendall Miles, on the life of the Biblical character David. This will likely be a trilogy of films. At present, we are immersing ourselves in the culture of 1000 BC Israel, and exploring the Biblical narrative from every conceivable angle. Updates and teasers will be posted to the blog over time. The working title for the first movie is "Samuel: Kingmaker".
I also have a business plan for a future franchise of Seventh-day Adventist run vegetarian restaurants. The trick has really been to figure out a financially sustainable way to run a restaurant without doing business during Sabbath hours (sunset-to-sunset, Friday to Saturday). Again, more details of this plan will unfold over time on this blog.
I enjoy music, though I intend to improve on this over time. I have taught myself guitar to an amateur level. I also sing rather roughly at times... I will be adding the piano to my repertoire this year. I one day hope to purchase some uilleann pipes and learn them.
I have this last year discovered a passion for physical fitness which I hope to improve upon. I like to run, canoe, rock-climb and do other forms of aerobic and anaerobic exercises. I hope to learn basic forms of various martial arts and self-defence techniques and pick up other hobbies such as hang-gliding, archery and fencing, when I can afford them.
